Christian Gun Owner-ADDITIONAL INFO-Gun Control for Churches-Protection

he Christian Gun Owner

WELCOME to the Christian Gun Owner web site. There is a huge American community of Christians who know that this country was founded on the principles of the Bible and under the guiding hand of an almighty God.

That community believes that the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights were a result of that guidance.

Christian Gun Owner – You Are Not Alone

Christians often send notes to me stating that they’re glad to find out that they’re not alone.

It’s amazing to me, as many contacts as I have through this site, that Christians who own guns and enjoy the shooting sports feel as isolated as they do.

The fact is that millions of responsible Christians across the U.S. enjoy shooting and hunting. And millions believe in the right and responsibility to protect themselves and their families from criminal assault.

The Christian Gun Owner Site Is For You

This site is dedicated to those millions of Christians. The patriots who enjoy the shooting sports of all kinds and believe in and practice responsibility for their and their family’s safety and protection.

What “Christian” Gun Owner Refers To Here

It means serious believers in Christ. Believers that live their lives in a way that is evidence of their faith. Nothing more or less. The real kind of Christian, not the tv kind.

Just believers in Christ that express that belief by living their everyday lives attempting to do their best to follow Christ. But they also acknowledge their human nature and occasional failures.

Christians at a shooting range

The true Christian gun owner believes he/she is to be a servant to humanity. But that belief does but not extend to being a doormat to those who refuse to live by the rules of reasonable human behavior.

So …. what if you’re a gun owner, but not a Christian?

That question arises from time to time when people contact me wanting to ask a question about guns. Some apparently feel they have to “confess” they’re not believers.

So here’s the clear answer. You’re as welcome here as any gun owner, Christian or other.

That said, if you found this site and take issue with fundamental Christian beliefs, this is not a place for you to vent.

If you would like to enter here to view, read, consider, learn, and communicate, please make yourself at home. And please feel free to contribute to the information.

Your and my beliefs or lack of them does not have to become a contentious issue in our discussion of guns, America, politics and rights.

Christians Using Firearms Responsibly

A ten year old learning to shoot a Walther P22 under the watchful eye of my wife.

This is a site with an owner that understands that firearms use is not consigned to criminals, and not destined to accidents.

We’ve taught countless kids how to handle firearms safely while becoming proficient shooters.

Part of that includes the responsibility to teach them to regard firearms with respect.

In the process of deciding on gun ownership?

Finally, if you’re just looking into gun ownership, this is a great place to look around and learn. Feel free to contact me with your questions, using the Contact Link in the right sidebar.

Now …. Let’s get started.

ARMSLIST Holster Review-MTR Custom Leather, LLC – IWB Holster Comparison-B-2 Slimline Tuckable IWB Holster Review

Switching directions, I have always been in love with leather.  Whether it’s the smell, the feel, or the romanticism of hand made goods, something about a leather holster has always just appealed to me as “right.”  Matt Rector also loves leather holsters, and it shows in his work.  I ordered an example of MTR’s “Slimline IWB Tuckable” holster.  In no time at all it was at my door.

Sturdy is a good word to describe this sizable chunk of bullhide.  My holster also has an additional layer of bullhide on the inside of the holster for a smoother draw that does not hinder retention.  While holding the holster upside down with the G17 in it, it still takes several violent shakes to get it out, and I have no concerns about it moving when it shouldn’t.  As advertised, this holster is notable for being quite thin as well. I suspect this is due to it’s design, but it does conceal the weapon very well and is extremely comfortable.  Fit and finish is also top notch.  I ordered my holster in Mahogany, with a reinforcement in saddle brown.  The holster is a beautiful shade of reddish brown with the reinforcement being a classy contrast.  The belt clips are nicely powder coated and allow a shirt to be tucked in if need be.  The MTR conceals exceptionally well and does not move, with a draw that is smooth as can be and nearly silent.  The MTR is a holster that looks as good as it performs, and if leather is your thing I would highly recommend you get one…now at MTRCustomLeather.com

There are a few things in life that make me shake my head when people use anything but the best.  Brakes, tires, and holsters are at the top of that list. It drives me nuts to see people running around on recaps, and buying cheap brakes leaves me scratching my head as to why one would be so cavalier with their life on a daily basis.  The third one usually merits an eye roll and a sigh however.  Carrying a gun is not a thoughtless task, it’s a massive responsibility.  And all too often I hear people talking about the new gun they purchased to carry, only to find out they are toting it around in quality equivalent to a recap tire.  Cheap holsters are a pet peeve of mine, and they always have been. Training with a cheap holster is asking for a potential trip to the hospital.  More importantly, should you ever need to employ your firearm to keep yourself breathing, you REALLY want it to be exactly where you left it and not at a different angle or position on your belt.  I’ve always made sure to mention to those asking me for advice on buying a new firearm for carry to budget in for a good holster and training classes (beyond the “keep your booger hook off the bang switch” intro class).  This is your life you’re protecting, I think it’s worth the money.

Inside the Waistband (IWB) holsters have become the dominant method of carry as they offer the most flexibility with wardrobe, while only minimally impeding access to the gun.  I personally carry full size handguns out of personal preference, and the 9mm Glock is what usually fills that role for me.  Of the holsters I have reviewed here, there is a single example of a holster for the very popular Glock 43, and many more for the Glock 17.  The full size Glock 17 is not the easiest to conceal, nor am I the smallest of chaps, so a holster needs to be a bit more than good in order to do the job for me.  I spent some good carry time with each of these holsters.  Some are from well known companies, others are hidden gems well worth searching for. Just to be clear there are no bad holsters here, I made sure of that.  They are all first rate tools in themselves, and can be counted on to do the job a holster is supposed to do; Keep your gun safe and ready to go should you ever need it.

Fun Fact about leather- MTR Custom Leather- Must See!

FUN FACT About leather ➡️➡️

Did you know that leather was once used as wallpaper? Back in the 17th century, it was all about fashion to have your house wallpapered with leather in places such as Florence and Venice in Italy. #mtrcl #leather #mtrcustomleather #holsters #madeinameruca

What is a Belt Stiffener? MTR Custom Leather explains it all right here|Must Read-It will change your mind about a belt.

Belt Stiffener….What is it? What is the purpose? What is the function? Where is it located at? What is it made of? Why a belt Stiffener?

All questions are answered here. First of all a little background about where and how these questions are being answered. MTR Custom Leather, LLC a small family owned business made in NC, USA started off in 2009 making old fashion leather belts. In fact, all sorts of leather belts. Ranging in different colors, width, thickness, styles and shapes. The options were endless and exciting. MTRCL gave each custom then and still today several options to designing a belt to meet there needs, all the way down to the stitching color. MTRCL realized that everyone’s preferences, body types and styles are different and that belts really need to be tailored to each person. With this being said, over the years MTRCL have learned what works and what does not work through many customers’ experiences, testimonies, trials and test. And that my folks is how we came up with the answers to the questions above.

Belt Stiffener-what is it exactly? Where is it located at? Great questions!  It’s a 3rd piece of leather in between the 2 pieces of leather.

https://www.mtrcustomleather.com/faqs/#1488931884331-dd4a328a-047ef0af-f412

When you receive the belt, you will see a small indentation of the 3rd piece of leather in between the 2 pieces. If you look at the picture below you can see that the leather around the holes is raised higher than the edge of the belt. Also, if you look below the screws on the belt you can see where the stiffener ends before the screws.

Why Leather for a stiffener? By using a leather stiffener in our belts (instead of plastic/metal), we are able to extend it all the way through the holes to the end of belt, this way the holes will not stretch as fast. Leaving the belt stiff but flexible for comfort. MTRCL has learned over the years that leather tends to be the best option for a internal stiffener. Metal and plastic breaks warps/breaks with the binding and flexing of the belt over the years and can be quite uncomfortable. By using metal or plastic MTRCL is unable extend the metal/plastic all the way through the holes, due to not being able to hand punch each hole. Yeah that’s right we said “HAND PUNCH”.

MTRCL have even seem the internal metal stiffeners come through the leather due to the sharp edges. ;(. What’s a great stiff belt if the holes start to stretch or tear???:O ON the other hand, nylon webbing tend to be too flexible and soft and not enough support for long term use.

Function of an internal leather stiffener? Internal stiffeners is a great variation to choose when buying a gun belt. Adding a stiffener will increase the belt’s stiffness, durability and rigidness. You will experience less stretching and rolling over of the belt. The adjustment holes will say nice and round longer. Most important, a stiff belt will most definitely increase the draw of the weapon. Belts with stiffeners aid in supporting the weight of the holster, weapon, magazine pouches and anything else that you may carry on your belt. By supporting the weight of the weapon, holster and ammo pouches brings better concealment.

Conclusion- MTRCL has got to wrap this up or this blog will turn into a book, that’s how much compassion we have for our leather products. Once a hobby that turned into a reality dream come true. Once to make side money while working a full time job to providing an income for multicable families.

Reality Conclusion about why you should invest in an internal stiffener? You really should have a reinforced gun belt if you’re going to carry every day. Otherwise, you’ll have a big, beefy strip of leather that will work great…for a month or two or less. Then it will break in, soften and slowly start to sag and fall apart. After that happens, it will only be a matter of time before you’ll need to replace it. What would be the point of investing in a good piece of leather if you’re only going to need a new one?

American Rifleman | New for 2021: Walther Arms PDP-New Walther Release

Walther Arms has always been known for its incredibly comfortable, ergonomic handgun designs, and the latest model from the company launched in 2021 doesn’t disappoint on that front. The Walther Performance Duty Pistol (PDP) is an all-new lineup that incorporates some of the best features ever found in a Walther handgun.

One of the highlights of the Walther PDP is its milled slide, which is designed to accept a range of popular red-dot sights when used with the correct mounting plate. When you buy a Walther PDP, you’re entitled to a free mounting plate of your choice from Walther, which enables you to run the optic of your choice. As it comes from the factory, though, the milled slide cut is covered by a contoured cover plate that maintains the lines of the gun and gives you a clear view of the enhanced open sights.

Following the milled slide, the other story on the Walther Arms PDP is found in its ergonomics. In fact, the ergonomics of this gun are designed expressly for optimized use of a red-dot sight. The grip itself is contoured in such a way that it provides you with a natural aiming presentation, thanks to the position of your pinky finger and support hand. When you line the gun up with the target, that dot will drop right in your line of sight, enabling you to get shots of quickly and intuitively.

In addition to the grip contours, you’ll also find an enhanced grip texture on the Walther Arms PDP. The Performance Duty texture is an exclusive design from Walther, which incorporates geometric tetrahedrons that allow you to gain impressive grip without experiencing the irritation found on more aggressive stippling and texturing. On the slide, Walther’s incorporated what it calls SuperTerrain serrations, which have been raised above the flat plain of the slide to give you deeper cuts that promote control over your slide and give you greater grip.

SPRINGFIELD ARMORY® ANNOUNCES HELLCAT® RDP™ 9MM

SPRINGFIELD ARMORY® ANNOUNCES HELLCAT® RDP™ 9MM

FEBRUARY 23, 2021

GENESEO, ILL. (2/23/21) – Springfield Armory® is proud to introduce an exciting new variant of its wildly popular micro 9mm Hellcat® — the Hellcat RDP™ (Rapid Defense Package). The RDP is replete with features that make this high-capacity, ultra-compact pistol even more versatile.

The new Hellcat RDP builds on the success and popularity of the original Hellcat OSP™ micro 9mm with the addition of a 3.8″ threaded barrel and an included Self Indexing Compensator. Compact and capable, the compensator vents gas from the barrel to significantly reduce muzzle rise and felt recoil. Made of lightweight 8082 aluminum, the compensator features a patented self-indexing mounting system that ensures the port is correctly oriented every time. That means it’s a breeze to install or remove with no need for shims or tools.

“The Hellcat reshaped the way people viewed what a CCW pistol can be. Now, the Hellcat RDP is taking the performance of this highly capable pistol to the next level,” says Steve Kramer, Vice President of Marketing for Springfield Armory.

Also debuting today is HEX™ optics by Springfield Armory. Direct-mounted on the slide of the Hellcat RDP is the all-new HEX Wasp™ red dot, utilizing the Springfield Micro™ footprint made popular by the Hellcat OSP. The ruggedly built, IPX7 waterproof-rated Wasp features an aluminum body and an anti-glare-coated glass lens, and its low-mount design means it can co-witness with the handgun’s fixed tritium/luminescent front sight and Tactical Rack U-Notch rear sight.

“We are excited about the introduction of HEX optics for the self-defense market. Built to the same standards of quality and performance you have come to expect from Springfield Armory, HEX precision crafted optics offer exceptional value and are backed by a lifetime warranty,” continued Steve Kramer.

The Hellcat RDP also features an optional low-profile ambidextrous manual safety located at the rear of the frame, and the new Gen 2 Hellcat trigger. This new trigger offers enhanced ergonomics for a wide range of hand sizes for an even more comfortable shooting experience.

With all these features plus the handgun’s impressive 11- and 13-round capacities, the Hellcat RDP is a formidable, cutting-edge self-defense firearm.
